Shaking Hands With Reagan 

One inch away from my face, nose to nose, with spit spattering me, a 5’7” 190lb. pit-bull of a man known as a Senior drill instructor asked me…“why are you here son? Why the Marines, why not something else?” I responded “Sir this recruit wants to be more than just all he can be!” All the while, not having a clue what was about to transpire.

Everything at Marine Boot Camp is done in third person to rid the platoon of any “I”. There is no “I” in team or leader! You will find as you begin your “TRAINING” that the team element is a vital component for success.

Marine on Right-Chris WootenAs a participant, you will quickly realize that things are harder as a team and you really begin to get a small taste of what it would be like to be out there with a squad of marines as they take on the enemy in a firefight. Remember that your team must start and finish together. This team building event is second to none in making you realize that say in the Marines “never leave a man behind”.
